I'll be spinning on New Years eve at Rise as my new alias, Shasta McNasty. It's going to be an evening of fun and funk. I'll be spinning on Friday, Oct. 10 at Rise for Proton Sessions 6 hosted by Proton Radio. I'll be spinning upstairs with Tae Seol. Tae and I also spun at Rhode Kill together, and that was a hell of a good time for all. I'll post some pictures from that soon. If you haven't seen Tae before, I highly highly recommend coming out to this event. Tae is definitely the best DJ I've ever seen in person, and I've seen a lot of DJs. He started spinning hip hop, so he cuts, scratches, and flawlessly mixes together the best funky tech house, fantastic songs that I've never heard before. Dres and Nick will be spinning some solid grooves in the lounge. Dres is a seasoned veteran and has a show on Proton Radio. This is Nick's first official gig, but I've heard him many many times in my apartment, and I'm sure he's going to nail it. He plays some really groovin deep house. And of course I'll be bringing a garbage bag full of funk to dump on the dancefloor. It's gonna be a great night. Drop me an email to get on the guest list. |

I just added a new mix, Good Ol' Fashion Shastin', on the mixes page. It's mostly funky house with fun, but tasteful, vocals. 3 of my own new tracks are on there, including a bitchin' Queen remix at the beginning. The friendly and talented Andres Escallon will be playing 60 minutes of the mix on Proton Radio on his Monday show, "Perceptions," at 4PM. But you you can download the full 69 minute version here. |

We've got a fun gig coming up at Underbar. SunnySideUp is bringing 16 Bit Lolitas to Boston, and Wicked Good Records will be holding down the side room (romantically referred to as "The Grotto"). Max can't make it back from Chicago, sadly, so it will just be me and Mark. Drop me an email to get on the reduced list ($10).

It's been a while since I posted any updates. Mark, Pat, and I have had a couple gigs at Club Rebel in New York that went quite well. We have another gig coming up on December 13 at Shine in Cambridge. And I posted a new mix with so much funk it's almost illegal. It's called One Million Funks , and it's available as a 320k mp3, about 50 minutes long. It starts with some hiphop and moves on to some very funky house. There's a full list of the songs on the mixes page. |
